What to do if you have vaginal itching after childbirth

We all know that childbirth is a minor operation for women, and the process of childbirth will make women feel pain and even lose a lot of blood. During childbirth, some dirty things will be discharged from the body, which may cause women to suffer from some gynecological diseases. The process of childbirth may also cause women's vagina to become loose. So what should we do if the vagina itches after childbirth?

1Is vaginal itching normal before menstruation?

1. Causes of premenstrual vaginal itching

There are many reasons for vulvar itching during menstruation. The most common one is that the body's resistance is weak during menstruation, and the stimulation of menstrual blood can easily lead to infection and cause vulvovaginitis. In this case, the itching often persists after menstruation. If this happens, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination in time. After identifying the pathogen of the infection, choose sensitive drugs and symptomatic treatment. In addition, the cause of vulvar itching during menstruation may also be due to the irritation of dirt, or the irritation of unclean sanitary napkins, lack of breathability and so on.

2. Premenstrual vaginal itching requires adjustment of diet and lifestyle habits

Eat more coarse grains in your diet, such as oats, brown rice, corn, pumpkin, whole wheat bread, etc., which can supplement B vitamins and strengthen the skin. Red dates, wolfberries, and various nuts have the effect of nourishing blood, nourishing yin, and nourishing the skin, so you can eat more of them appropriately. Spicy food will damage yin fluid and aggravate dry skin; fishy and wind-inducing foods such as lamb and seafood will increase skin itching, so it is recommended to eat less or not eat them.

Wear loose cotton or silk clothes to avoid friction between chemical fiber clothing and skin, and avoid irritation to the skin caused by static electricity from clothes. It is recommended to wash newly bought underwear before wearing to prevent skin allergies caused by chemical residues in the clothing manufacturing process. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene and keep the vulva clean and dry.

2. Attention to vaginal itching

1. Avoid smoking and drinking, and eat less spicy and allergenic foods.

2. Eat more nutritious foods, such as chicken, milk, tofu, beans, etc.

3. People with vulvar eczema should eat more clams, coix seeds, rapeseed, walnuts, olives, and ground ears.

4. For vaginal sores and ulcers, it is advisable to eat more ginkgo nuts, olives, shad, coix seeds, figs, and jellyfish.

3 What to do about vaginal itching after childbirth

1. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene, change menstrual pads frequently and wash them frequently during menstruation.

2. Keep the vulva clean and dry, do not wash it with hot water or scrub it with soap.

3. Avoid misusing or abusing drugs, scratching or local friction.

4. Avoid alcohol, spicy food, seafood, and medicines that may cause allergies.

5. Do not wear tight crotch pants. Underwear should be loose, breathable, and preferably made of cotton.

6. If there is local damage or infection, you can use 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution (add a trace amount of potassium permanganate powder to warm water to make it light red, not too concentrated) to soak, twice a day, each time for 20-30 minutes

7. See a doctor to check whether there is fungus or trichomonas. If so, seek timely treatment instead of using "anti-itching water" to treat it yourself.

4What medicine should I take for vaginal itching?

The treatment of trichomoniasis vaginitis can be oral metronidazole (both husband and wife can take it for 7 days) and vaginal metronidazole suppositories at the same time.

For candidal vaginitis, 2-4% soda water can be used to flush the vagina, followed by treatment with Daconazole suppositories or Canesten suppositories, and antifungal drugs such as itraconazole, ketoconazole or Diflucan can be used in combination with the treatment.

Vaginitis needs to be followed up after treatment because it may recur afterwards, especially candidal vaginitis. If it is not treated thoroughly or there are predisposing factors, it may recur. Therefore, after 2 weeks of treatment and after the next menstruation is over, you should go to the hospital for examination again. If possible, the examination should be continued for 3 months. Of course, if it is inconvenient, you can also use vaginal suppositories to apply the medicine directly for a few days after each menstruation to prevent recurrence.
