Diagram of sha on a girl's back

At present, with people's increasing attention to health care, traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods such as cupping have gradually become familiar to everyone. We can judge the health status according to the color and position of the sha. The back is a large reflective area of our body, so, what is the surface of the sha when scraping the back? What problems does the color of the sha indicate?

A uniform color of sha, dark red without obvious sha indicates physical and mental health. If it is red, it means it is easy to get inflamed; dark purple means there is blood stasis; purple-black means there is both blood stasis and cold; gray-green means there is a slight cold; light green or slightly yellowish means there is drug toxicity; if there are wrinkles around the cup, it means you have caught a cold; and if there is water vapor in the cup, it means the spleen is damp.

Blood pressure can be used to determine the physical condition based on the location of the sha. Sha is very likely to appear along the meridian circulation routes and acupuncture points, which may cause the organs connected to the meridians to become diseased. For example, if sha spots or purple sha appear in the Xinshu acupoint area after evenly scraping the bladder meridian on the back, it indicates that there are abnormal changes in heart function and health care should be taken in advance.

The blood sha pattern can distinguish the level of rehabilitation treatment. The sha pattern can distinguish the level of rehabilitation treatment. If scattered sha appears with a lighter color, it means the condition is relatively mild and can be easily cured. If more sha appears with large spots, purple blood bags, etc., it means the condition is relatively severe and requires several rounds of health care to be cured.

During the whole process of cupping, after some sha marks appear, the method of scraping is changed to light scraping to make the sha gradually penetrate out to relieve pain, which is called penetrating sha. In addition, some people with neuromuscular paralysis are not prone to sha after cupping. Do not scrape hard or heavily. If you expect to see sha, you should scrape it several times. Of course, the sha will flash by, indicating that the condition has improved. This is also called penetrating sha.

After cupping, the purple and black marks on the skin will affect the appearance. Applying hot cotton towels and drinking plenty of water will make it easier to remove the sha. For people with good physical fitness, the symptoms usually disappear in 2 to 3 days; for people with poor physical fitness, it usually takes 4 to 5 days. Although cupping is effective, it is not suitable for everyone. There are also taboos in cupping, especially facial scraping, which requires more caution.
