Sleeping with your period

Sleeping with your period

When women have their menstrual period every month, changes in hormones in the body will cause some psychological and physical changes in women. During this period, women are generally more vulnerable and psychologically want to have contact with the opposite sex. If the emotions are not properly relieved at this time, many women will have sex during their menstrual period. This has a great impact on the health of women and men. Here is a detailed introduction to the effects of sleeping together during menstruation.

Sexual intercourse is prohibited during menstruation. Because during menstruation, wounds are formed on the endometrium, the immunity of various systems decreases, and the cervix opens. Once intercourse occurs during menstruation, the insertion of the penis will cause congestion of the female genitals, leading to increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation. , which can easily lead to inflammatory infection, causing endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, etc. In addition, when a woman is sexually excited, uterine contractions may cause menstrual blood to flow back into the pelvic cavity, causing implantation of the endometrium and leading to endometriosis. Endometriosis may affect pregnancy. The male reproductive organs may bring bacteria into the vagina. Menstrual blood is a good culture medium for bacteria and other microorganisms. Bacteria can easily breed and spread along the many tiny wounds and ruptured blood vessels in the endometrium, infecting the endometrium and even affecting the fallopian tubes and pelvic organs, causing unnecessary trouble to the woman.

If you have sex during menstruation, if the infectious bacteria are highly virulent, they may spread through the lymphatic vessels of the endometrium to the outside of the uterus and enter the pelvic cavity, causing acute adnexitis (including the fallopian tubes and ovaries) and pelvic peritonitis, which may cause fever, abdominal pain, and may also affect future fertility. Once the fallopian tubes become inflamed, adhesions may occur. In severe cases, the lumen of the tubes may be blocked, and conception may not be possible as sperm cannot pass through. Because sperm meets the overflowing blood cells in the damaged endometrium and even enters the blood, it can induce the production of anti-sperm antibodies, thus leading to immune infertility and sterility. Therefore, women cannot have sex during their menstruation.
