HPV, also known as human papillomavirus, is a virus. When the body's resistance and immunity are low, it is very likely to be infected with this virus, and this virus is contagious. Especially when people have sexual relations, it is most likely to spread the disease. Therefore, in life, you should try to avoid places like public baths. So how do women get infected with HPV? (1) Direct contact infection: This is the main route of transmission. When having sexual intercourse with a patient suffering from HPV, the warts growing on the external genitalia are easily scratched because they are exogenous, protruding and relatively brittle. The viruses in the warts and epidermal tissues then fall off and are inoculated onto the genitals of the sexual partner, leading to infection with the human papillomavirus and the disease. Therefore, HPV is very likely to occur among people with promiscuous sexual relationships. 2) Mother-to-child infection: Pregnant women with HPV, especially those with no obvious clinical symptoms but viral infection in the cervix, will have the virus in their reproductive tract. During delivery, the fetus passes through the birth canal, leading to viral infection of the newborn and causing HPV in infants and young children. 3) Indirect transmission: Some HPV patients are infected with human papillomavirus through indirect routes, the most common of which are daily necessities such as underwear, bath towels, bathtubs, etc. Therefore, people who go out or travel should pay great attention to this route. (4) Autologous HPV infection: Clinically, patients with HPV in the external genitalia or anus are found to have HPV because their hands often come into contact with HPV, which then infects the skin and mucous membranes of other parts of the body through their hands, causing HPV. A case of a 5-year-old boy suffering from anal HPV was reported abroad. Later, wart-like lesions developed on his fingers, and the same subtype of HPV was found in the wart tissue around the anus and fingers. It is believed that the disease may be caused by self-inoculation. Observations further demonstrate that genital HPV can be self-infected through hand-genital contact. |
