Abdominal pain during menstruation is a very big trouble for many women. There are many reasons for abdominal pain during menstruation. Generally, it is due to the pain caused by primary neurosis in the body, or uterine inflammation. Uterine diseases can easily lead to dysmenorrhea, so a detailed examination can be done.

Dysmenorrhea always brings a lot of troubles to women, and severe cases will directly affect their normal work and life. It should be pointed out that general lower abdominal discomfort that does not interfere with work and life should not be called dysmenorrhea.

According to the cause, dysmenorrhea can be roughly divided into two types: one is that there is no obvious lesion in the reproductive system, which is called primary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea usually occurs at the beginning of menarche, and is mostly caused by neuropsychiatric pain due to uterine contractions and local ischemia, or due to uterine hypoplasia and cervical stenosis. It is caused by malposition of the uterus and endocrine disorders. The latter types of dysmenorrhea often occur within three months after the start of menstruation and may last throughout the reproductive period. However, for many women, dysmenorrhea will be significantly alleviated or even disappear after pregnancy and childbirth. The other type of dysmenorrhea is caused by a clear disease and is called secondary dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea occurs after a period of normal menstruation (usually three years). Genital inflammation, uterine fibroids. Reproductive organ diseases such as endometriosis can cause secondary dysmenorrhea.

Dysmenorrhea is common and in most cases the symptoms are mild and do not require special treatment. While dysmenorrhea itself is not life-threatening, many times it can be a sign of a more serious medical condition. Therefore, if you have dysmenorrhea, you should go to the hospital to see a doctor as soon as possible to determine the cause of the dysmenorrhea. If it is secondary dysmenorrhea, the primary disease should be treated actively. If it is caused by developmental abnormalities or physical weakness, the general condition should be treated; if it is caused by cervical stenosis, cervical dilation surgery can be performed; if it is caused by endocrine disorders, adjustments should be made.

Simple home remedy for dysmenorrhea:

(1) Under the guidance of a doctor, take some antipyretic and analgesic drugs such as Sanlitong and Naproxen tablets to relieve pain; take drugs such as belladonna tablets or atropine to relieve spasmodic pain.

(2) Take a large angelica root, slice it and boil it in water.

(3) Take 50 grams of mugwort leaves, add brown sugar and boil in water.

(4) Take 10g of stir-fried Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, 6g of Pollen Typhae, and 30g of Salvia miltiorrhiza, and decoct them in water for oral administration.

(5) Take dried loofah strips, add 1 bowl of water and boil it.

(6) Take 250 grams of salt, fry it until hot, wrap it in a cloth and iron it on your lower abdomen. When it is no longer hot, wrap it around your lower abdomen.

(7) Take 9 grams of Salvia miltiorrhiza, grind it into fine powder, and mix it with wine for oral administration.

(8) Take 30g of Sophora flavescens, grind it into fine powder, mix with vinegar and swallow.

(9) Take 15 grams of ginger and 50 grams of brown sugar, boil them in water and drink.

(10) Take 60 grams of golden yellow chrysanthemum, 60 grams of mutton or lean meat, 250 milliliters of rice wine, add appropriate amount of water and stew, then eat the soup and meat. Take daily: 1 dose, for several days.

(11) Take 30 grams of small plant charcoal and 30 grams of brown sugar, decoct in water and drink. Daily: dose, divided into two doses, take 1-2 doses in a row.

After suffering from dysmenorrhea, you should pay attention to:

(1) Go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible, especially if you have severe pain accompanied by sweating, cold limbs, cyanosis of the face, etc., to find out whether it is primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea, so that you can have a clear idea. When dysmenorrhea is severe, it is best to rest in bed for half a day or a day, which can greatly relieve abdominal pain.

(2) Keep warm before, during and after menstruation to avoid cold. At the same time, you should not overwork yourself.

(3) Eat more light, easily digestible foods and avoid eating raw, cold, spicy and irritating foods.

(4) Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva, wash it with water once a day, and change the pad paper frequently.

(5) Pay attention to mental conditioning, remove psychological barriers, make the mind happy, and let the qi flow smoothly.

Dysmenorrhea is common. Dysmenorrhea refers to abdominal pain and other discomfort before, during, and after menstruation that affects work and life. The pain usually occurs on the 1st or 2nd day of the menstrual period, but some people may start having abdominal pain 1 or 2 days before the menstrual period, and the pain worsens during the menstrual period.
