What are the symptoms of early development in girls?

Girls mature earlier than boys. This precocity is not only manifested psychologically, but also physiologically. When girls develop, their physiological structure will undergo great changes. For example, their breasts will grow larger. Many girls will also experience changes in their body shape during this stage. This is caused by hormonal changes in the body. So what are the manifestations of early development in girls?

1. Clinical characteristics

Girls who experience precocious puberty often first experience breast enlargement, which may be tender. In most cases, both breasts enlarge at the same time, but in some children, only one breast enlarges at first, and then the breast develops to the other side. As the disease progresses, the breasts enlarge further, vaginal discharge increases, and the child's height growth accelerates. If not treated promptly and appropriately, pubic, axillary and vaginal bleeding may occur later. It usually starts with irregular vaginal bleeding, which gradually transitions to regular menstruation.

2. Classification and characteristics

(1 Pseudo-precocious puberty:

① Homosexual precocious puberty: A. Caused by exogenous estrogen, the areola, nipple and labia minora are brown. Female sexual characteristics are not fully developed or are accompanied by irregular vaginal bleeding. B. Signs of primary disease: such as pelvic tumors, multiple fibrous dysplasia, coffee-colored pigmented spots on the skin that vary in size, shape and number, and prone to fractures.

② Heterosexual precocious puberty: A. Masculinization: Girls develop masculinization symptoms such as Adam's apple, beard, hirsutism, acne, and enlarged clitoris. B. Adrenal disease or ovarian tumor.

(2True precocious puberty:

① Development of female secondary sexual characteristics: Pubic and axillary hair appears, breast development can reach Tanner stages III and IV (Table 1), and the body shape is similar to that of an adult woman (wide hips).

②Height: Taller than children of the same age at an early age.

③ Development of internal and external genitalia: The uterine body occupies 2/3 of the entire uterus, the cervix occupies 1/3, and the labia majora are plump.

④ It may be ovulation menstruation: When the basal body temperature is biphasic and the menstruation is regular, it indicates ovulation menstruation.

3. So, how to judge whether a child has started puberty?

Breast development is a sign that girls are beginning to enter puberty. In girls who have just begun puberty, a small nipple can be felt under the areola.

As parents, we should pay more attention to our children's physical condition and observe them carefully. Once we find that a little girl shows signs of precocious puberty before the age of 10, and her breasts begin to enlarge prematurely, we should go to the hospital in time to ask an experienced pediatric endocrinologist for diagnosis and treatment, so as not to delay the best time for treatment. Parents must be reminded that if true precocious puberty is not treated, the condition will progress in most children, with sexual characteristics and reproductive organs becoming increasingly obvious, and bone development accelerating and bone age advancing.
