What is the cause of vulvar pemphigus?

Vulvar pemphigus is often caused by low immunity. Common symptoms include local skin ulceration and bleeding. Women's labia minora and vagina are particularly vulnerable, so it is important to understand scientific treatment methods.

1. Causes

It is an autoimmune disease and there may be a genetic susceptibility. Certain drugs and foods can be triggers of the disease, and ultraviolet radiation can aggravate the condition.

2. Clinical manifestations

Pemphigus is not specific to the vulva, but can be seen anywhere on the body. Vulva involvement in women is more common in the labia minora, vagina and cervix.

The lesions appear as blisters ranging in size from peas to eggs on normal skin or erythematous base, isolated or clustered in patches, containing clear, turbid or bloody fluid. After the wall is broken, an erosive surface may be formed, with exudation, scabs, and a fishy smell. Pigmentation may occur after healing. Local burning and pain may be accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever and anorexia.

Treatment

1. Cortisol is the first choice effective drug for the treatment of pemphigus. It can inhibit the production of pemphigus antibodies and block the lesions caused by the immune response.

2. The combined use of immunosuppressants and steroid hormones can improve the efficacy, such as cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, cyclosporine, etc.

3. Plasma exchange: removes pemphigus antibodies from the body.

4. Proteolytic enzyme preparations, such as aminobenzoic acid, can inhibit pemphigus lesions.

5. Antibiotics are used to prevent and treat secondary infections.

6. Local wet compresses such as potassium permanganate and ethazacine solution can be used, and corticosteroids and antibiotic creams can be applied.
