There is blood again a few days after menstruation. Experts tell you why

Under normal circumstances, a woman needs to wait until the next month after her menstruation ends. However, some people find that there is bleeding again after a few days. This is definitely abnormal. For example, some women may experience this situation after taking birth control pills. There are also many other reasons.

1. Irregular vaginal bleeding

It is continuous, sometimes stops, sometimes more and sometimes less. It is common in anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding (dysfunctional uterine bleeding), submucosal uterine fibroids, early endometriosis, cervical cancer, etc.

2. Vaginal bleeding after intercourse or during gynecological examination

Vaginal bleeding during gynecological examination

The color is bright red, and the amount can be more or less. It is commonly seen in cervical polyps, severe cervical erosion, acute cervicitis, early cervical cancer or submucosal uterine fibroids.

3. Vaginal bleeding after menopause

If the woman of childbearing age has a history of sexual intercourse, it may be caused by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or hydatidiform mole. If there is no history of sexual intercourse, it may be caused by reproductive tract malignancy or anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

4. Postmenopausal vaginal bleeding

The amount of bleeding is usually small, and the bleeding may continue or recur. Occasionally, it may be accompanied by lower abdominal pain. Endometrial cancer should be excluded first, as it can also be seen in senile vaginitis or endometritis.

5. Spotting before and after menstruation

It lasts for several days, causing the entire menstrual period to last more than ten days or even longer, and it is often endless. It can be seen in ovulatory uterine bleeding (dysfunctional uterine bleeding), endometriosis, or as a side effect of intrauterine device placement.

6. Vaginal bleeding after taking emergency contraceptive pills

The impact of emergency contraceptive pills on menstruation is mainly manifested in changes in the menstrual cycle, which may be early or delayed. In particular, repeated use can cause menstrual disorders and continuous vaginal bleeding.
