The most common degeneration of uterine fibroids

The most common degeneration of uterine fibroids

The prevalence of uterine fibroids among women is relatively high. Once you have uterine fibroids, it can have a great impact on women's physical and mental health, especially when the uterine fibroids are large and the symptoms are obvious, or when they undergo transformation, it can cause different degrees of impact. So what are the common transformations of uterine fibroids? Common uterine fibroids have six transformations. Let us learn about them together below.

1. Laminated glass transformation, also known as full transparent transformation, is the most common type of transformation.

2. Fatty degeneration. Generally, postmenopausal patients with uterine fibroids are prone to fatty degeneration. After degeneration, the uterine fibroid model becomes yellowish, and the vortex structure of the uterine fibroid tissue disappears.

3. Cystic lesions are generally secondary to laminated hyaline degeneration. This type of degeneration is caused by tissue necrosis and vaporization, which can cause the appearance of cystic cavities of varying sizes in uterine fibroids. Some people have single-chambered cysts or multiple-chambered cysts with clear liquid or gelatinous substances inside. Microscopic examination revealed that the cystic cavity was not covered by epithelial cells.

4. Bright red change. Patients with uterine fibroids are prone to bright red change during pregnancy or postpartum period. The volume of uterine fibroids may expand rapidly, and acute abdominal symptoms may also appear. The uterine fibroid model is mainly dark red, soft and fishy. Pathological examination will reveal edema and widespread bleeding in the tumor tissue, as well as the presence of small blood clots.

5. Thickening, usually secondary to fatty degeneration.

6. Sarcoma transformation, that is, malignant transformation. The probability of this type of transformation is very low. Generally, older patients with uterine fibroids have a relatively higher probability of progression, which is mainly manifested as a faster growth rate of uterine fibroids. If patients with uterine fibroids have irregular vaginal bleeding or uterine fibroids continue to expand after menopause, the possibility of uterine fibroids progression should be considered.

What are the transformations of uterine fibroids? The above are several types of transformations that may occur in uterine fibroids. For patients with uterine fibroids, they must pay attention to observation and adjust according to their own conditions in time to prevent the transformation of uterine fibroids and cause greater harm. In particular, they must be alert to sarcoma transformation. Therefore, when uterine fibroids show some abnormal manifestations, they must seek medical attention in time for proper treatment.
