How to treat female vulvar itching?

Many women have experienced symptoms of vulvar itching, and they all expressed helplessness. Because the affected area is relatively private, some female friends feel particularly shy. When symptoms of vulvar itching appear, they generally do not go to the hospital for examination and treatment, so the disease is delayed, which eventually leads to more serious consequences. Moreover, vulvar itching is very painful, often making them restless and affecting their normal life. So, how to treat female vulvar itching? Let’s find out together.

First, general treatment

Pay attention to cleaning during menstruation to keep the vulva clean and dry. The female private parts care solution with pH 4 weak acid formula is suitable for cleaning the vulva. Avoid scratching. Do not wash with hot water and avoid using soap. Clothing, especially underwear, should be loose and breathable. Avoid alcohol and spicy or allergic foods.

Second, treatment of the cause

It is necessary to eliminate the root cause of the patient's private itching or the systemic cause of the disease. For example, bacterial vaginosis can be treated with gel disinfectant.

Third, internal medication treatment

① Antihistamines: Generally speaking, commonly used antihistamines such as chlorpheniramine, hydroxyzine (Antale), and cyproheptadine have cooling and antipruritic effects and can be used to treat this disease. Non-serious antihistamines such as astemizole (Astemizole), loratadine, cetirizine, terfenadine, azatadine (Azatadine), etc., also have a certain effect on systemic itching. For patients with long course of disease, severe symptoms and poor effect, combination therapy can be used to improve the effect. H1-receptor antagonists can be used in combination with H2-receptor antagonists such as cimetidine (cimetidine) and ranitidine, which can sometimes improve the effect.

② Drugs with calming and hypnotic effects such as vitamin B1, oryzanol, and calcium supplements can be used according to the condition or used in combination with antihistamines.

③Sex hormone treatment: Female patients with senile pruritus can take 0.5 mg of diethylstilbestrol, twice a day. Of course, they can also use 10 mg of progesterone, intramuscular injection, once a day. For pruritus that worsens during the menstrual period, 10 mg of progesterone can be injected intramuscularly 10 days before the menstrual period. 5 mg is injected intramuscularly 5 days before menstruation. If the menstrual period is missed, 10 mg is injected intramuscularly on the 20th day after the menstruation, and 5 mg is injected intramuscularly on the 25th day.

According to the above introduction, we know that vulvar itching is a symptom that many female friends have experienced, but some people do not want to be mentioned because of their face, and they think it makes them very embarrassed. This practice is incorrect. When the symptoms of vulvar itching appear, you must go to the hospital to find out the cause of the itching. You cannot ignore it, and you cannot take medicine by yourself, because this is likely to cause more serious consequences.
