What causes moderate cervical erosion?

Everyone should be familiar with cervical erosion, a female gynecological disease. There are many reasons for this disease. Generally, mild cervical erosion can be controlled in time, but if the condition worsens and becomes moderate and severe cervical erosion, it will be more difficult to treat. Many people don’t know why they suffer from moderate cervical erosion. Let us learn about it today!

The grading method of cervical erosion is based on the size of the erosion area, which can be divided into three types: mild cervical erosion, moderate cervical erosion, and severe cervical erosion. When the erosion area is less than 1/3 of the entire cervical area, it is mild cervical erosion; when the erosion area is between 1/3 and 2/3 of the cervical area, it is moderate cervical erosion; when the erosion area is more than 2/3 of the entire cervical area, it is severe cervical erosion.

The causes of moderate cervical erosion include unclean sexual life, excessive cleaning, multiple abortions, prolonged menstruation, high-intensity sexual life, multiple sexual partners, and sexual life during menstruation. Multiple sexual partners means that the cervix will suffer varying degrees of damage, allowing bacteria to enter the uterine cavity and cause erosion.

Unclean sexual life: Once a man and a woman have sexual intercourse, the vagina is in a relatively "open" state. During sexual intercourse, the penis and cervix are in direct contact. If men do not pay attention to sexual hygiene, they can directly bring bacteria into the vagina, infect the cervix, and cause cervical erosion.

Cervical erosion is caused by inflammatory stimulation, which causes the epithelial cells covering the surface of the cervix to fall off, while the columnar epithelial cells underneath protrude outward and replace the fallen covering epithelium. Because the capillaries of the columnar epithelium are exposed, the inflammatory area appears bright red, hence the name cervical erosion.

If you suffer from cervical erosion, especially moderate cervical erosion, antibiotics generally cannot completely control the condition and it is difficult to control the progression of the disease. You should combine it with some physical therapy methods. If it develops into severe cervical erosion, you may even need surgical treatment, which is very harmful to the female body.
