The harm of losing weight and not having menstruation

Nowadays, female friends are more and more obsessed with beauty. They often try their best to lose weight, either by not eating or by exercising hard. If they continue like this for a long time, they will lose weight, but their body organs will all fail. For example, the common phenomenon of not having menstruation due to weight loss, what should we do?

The human body has eight major systems. Compared with priority systems such as the nervous system and respiratory system that maintain life, the reproductive system has a lower status. Losing weight can cause your body to have more energy than it needs. In order to maintain the development of life, the only energy in the body will be provided to the priority system first, and the reproductive system will affect its normal operation due to lack of energy.

Over time, the reproductive endocrine system will become disordered, and for women, the most obvious consequence is amenorrhea.

Among the many weight loss methods, Director Ding is particularly opposed to taking diet pills. "Most diet pills have an inhibitory effect on glands and will damage the female endocrine system."

In fact, fat is very necessary for women. "Fat contains steroids, which are the raw materials for the formation of estrogen. Without the stimulation of estrogen, the endometrium will not thicken and menstruation will not come," said Director Ding.

Normally, for an 18-year-old girl, body fat should account for at least 23% of her body weight. This is the minimum fat level for her to become pregnant, give birth and breastfeed in the future. If the level is lower than this, it will easily cause amenorrhea, and in severe cases it will affect her future fertility.

Of course, being too fat is not conducive to pregnancy. "Obesity can also easily cause endocrine disorders. For example, some obese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome suffer from long-term infertility, which is related to their being too fat." Dr. Jiang Ping said that standard weight is the best state for pregnancy.

First of all, although excessive weight loss can make your body look more beautiful and you become more confident, if you continue to lose weight for a long time it may cause multiple organ failure in the body, not only will you have no menstruation, but it may also cause infertility.
