Mobvoi and Dianping reach strategic cooperation to provide mobile voice search technology to the latter

Beijing time, August 14, Mobvoi, China's leading provider of mobile intelligent voice search technology, officially announced yesterday that it will enter into a strategic partnership with Dianping.com, China's leading local life consumption platform, to become the latter's technology provider in the field of mobile voice search. From now on, the voice search service on Dianping.com's Android mobile app will be technically supported by Mobvoi, and the iOS version will be launched later.

The specific cooperation method is that Dianping.com has realized an intelligent search function similar to Apple's Siri through the semantic analysis technology of Mobvoi. Users only need to talk to the Dianping mobile app to achieve the same effect as typing, so as to find life service information that meets their requirements. Compared with Siri, Mobvoi's technology understands Chinese better and understands the Chinese way of speaking better. According to the two parties, this cooperation supports full voice analysis in multiple dimensions including name, business district, type, sorting conditions, restaurant specials, group purchases, coupons, etc., covering all aspects of user search needs.

Dianping.com is the world's earliest independent third-party consumer review website, dedicated to providing netizens with information on merchants in the fields of catering, shopping, leisure and entertainment, and life services, consumer discounts, and an interactive platform for publishing consumer reviews. Data shows that as of the second quarter of 2013, Dianping.com's monthly comprehensive page views (website and mobile devices) exceeded 2 billion, of which Dianping's mobile client page views exceeded 70%, and the cumulative number of independent users of the mobile client exceeded 75 million, making it an essential tool for local life.

With the explosive growth of mobile Internet, more and more people are shifting their search behavior from PC to mobile. As a result, voice input and voice search have become an indispensable lifestyle for people in the mobile Internet era. As a leader in the field of mobile intelligent voice search, Mobvoi's technical accumulation in this field has been increasingly favored by the industry. This cooperation with Dianping.com further proves that Mobvoi has the ability to provide efficient and high-quality voice search experience for hundreds of millions of mobile Internet users.

Li Zhifei, founder and CEO of Mobvoi, said: "This cooperation with Dianping.com fully demonstrates the important position of mobile voice search in the field of local life consumption. Mobvoi and Dianping.com will work together in the field of mobile voice search to better improve Dianping.com's user experience and efficiency in mobile voice search."

A relevant person in charge of Dianping.com said: "We adopted the mobile voice search technology of Mobvoi mainly because we valued Li Zhifei and his team's technical accumulation in the field of mobile search and their ability in natural language processing."
