When I learned that my classmates were infected, I was so scared that I quickly put on a mask. Comrades, please don’t be careless.

The protracted epidemic prevention and control has forced us to relax a little in our hearts, even though the process management remains the same.

As a doctor, although I know the power of the new coronavirus, I am also an ordinary person after all. After enduring the hot summer, the sultry autumn has become a hurdle. Seeing people take off their masks and breathe in the autumn air, I am greedy. So, when there is no one outdoors, I will also take off my mask slightly.

The moment I took off my mask, in addition to the feeling of not having seen it for a long time, I inevitably felt like a primary school student who had done something wrong. After all, no one knows the bitterness, cruelty and tragedy of the front line of the fight against the epidemic better than us medical staff.

Until one day, I quickly put on a mask across the screen. This was because I heard a shocking news in the class group: my college classmate was infected with the new coronavirus!

From the eager students’ questions, we learned that it had been a month since he was infected. What impressed us most was that the high frequency of nucleic acid testing almost pierced his mucous membrane. But in order to cooperate with the treatment, he could only endure it.

Before I could ask him more details, his phone was taken away again. In the early stage of his illness, he was in the intensive care unit, so he had no chance to get his phone. After being transferred to the isolation ward, he was also under intensive care.

Just imagine, if you are not allowed to look at your phone for two hours, you might go crazy. But he was completely "isolated from the world" for nearly a month!

At this time, some people may wonder: How did he get infected?

According to his description, he was infected by a pregnant woman. The pregnant woman's family and even her neighbors who had close contact with her were not spared. This shows how powerful this virus is!

Some people may question: You doctors are all "fully armed", how could you get infected?

What I want to say is that no matter how strong the defense is, it still depends on the enemy's firepower. If the enemy's firepower is too strong, no matter how good the defense is, it can only reduce the damage. The same is true for viruses. If there is a small amount of contact, it may be immediately recognized and eliminated by our body's defense system; but once there is a large amount of contact, it depends on who is the winner of this game.

During the epidemic, many industries can adjust their work and rest time or even stop working according to the epidemic situation. However, hospitals cannot.

If the hospital is closed, the lives of the people will not be guaranteed. And the surgery and anesthesia departments in the hospital cannot be stopped. After all, no one can stop pregnant women from giving birth, and no one can predict when emergency surgery will come.

Being an anesthesiologist is a high-risk job. This is because anesthesiologists have to stay at the patient's head all the time. In order to ensure the patient's life safety, they must not only stay with the patient, but also bear huge psychological pressure to perform operations such as mask oxygen inhalation, endotracheal tube insertion, and sputum suction for patients who are not sure whether they have been infected.

Even for the seemingly simple "half anesthesia" during cesarean section, the anesthesiologist must stay at the head throughout the whole process. During this period, the key treatment of multiple links is an important measure to ensure the safety of the mother. For example, after the anesthesia is given, the anesthesia plane must be checked and adjusted immediately. Otherwise, if the plane is too high, the mother's circulation will be extremely suppressed. Once that happens, their lives will become extremely fragile.

A considerable number of parturients may also experience "supine position syndrome". If the operating table is not tilted to a certain angle in time, the parturient's blood pressure will drop sharply. They may lose consciousness in a short period of time.

In this urgent moment, the anesthesiologist has no time to think about keeping distance or the possibility of infection.

Fortunately, he was just infected and everything else is fine.

As a doctor, I would like to remind everyone again: the epidemic is still going on, please wear a mask and do not be careless!
