Endometrium 13mm but no period

Endometrium 13mm but no period

Under normal circumstances, before a woman's period, the thickness of the uterine wall is about 1 cm. Two days before menstruation, the body's estrogen and progesterone levels drop rapidly, the uterine wall loses the support of hormones, and it will peel off, and menstruation will occur. When the endometrial thickness reaches 13mm and menstruation has not occurred, it may be that the body's estrogen level has increased abnormally, there is no estrogen resistance, and the uterine wall has abnormally proliferated. If it is caused by shedding, you can take estrogen orally, perform pathological curettage, or perform diagnostic curettage to eliminate the possibility of uterine wall disease.

If the uterine wall is 13mm and menstruation has not yet occurred, eliminate the possibility of pregnancy first. Since the uterine wall thickens clinically, there are two possibilities physiologically: first, the endometrial thickening caused by pregnancy; second, the endometrial thickening caused by menstruation. Therefore, it is recommended to clear the possibility of pregnancy first. If you are not pregnant, it is recommended to drink hot brown sugar ginger water for 2 consecutive days, and it is recommended to massage the Zhiwu point just below the first joint between the thumb bones. Press once in the morning, noon and evening every day, press 100 times each time. Because the acupoints are relatively small, it is recommended to use a ballpoint pen to massage. The best effect is to feel soreness in the area during massage. Generally, menstruation will come after 3 days of continuous massage.

What is the reason why menstruation does not come when the uterine wall reaches 13mm? Before the menstrual period, we use ultrasound to accurately measure the thickness of the uterine wall. Generally, the thickness of 8-13mm is within the normal range. If it is currently 13mm and the menstruation is relatively regular, it may be that the menstruation is about to come, and it cannot be ruled out that other female hormones in the body are affecting the menstruation.

These factors mainly come from excessive psychological stress or irregular work and rest schedules, which may cause disorders in the metabolism of female hormones. It is also possible that the menstrual period has not come yet. If it happens occasionally, you can still observe it and there is no need to worry too much. If you wait a few more days or it happens frequently, it is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination to see whether it is caused by functional degeneration of the uterine adnex or other reasons, and then start medication treatment.
