I'm 45 and my period suddenly stopped.

Why did my menstruation suddenly stop at the age of 45?

After entering middle age, many people will worry about whether they will enter menopause, so there are some uncertainties. Some people no longer have their menstrual period at the age of 45, and they dare not say whether they have entered menopause, although they can't say for sure that they may not need to get pregnant again, because menopause means that they can no longer get pregnant. But I still don't want to admit that I'm old.

I am 45 years old and my menstruation suddenly stops. What is going on?

The time from the beginning of ovarian decline to the last menstrual period usually begins after the age of 40, lasting from one to two years to more than ten years. The last menstrual period in a woman's life is called menopause.

The World Health Organization calls the period from the beginning of ovarian decline to one year after menopause the perimenopausal period. As the ovaries gradually weaken, the eggs cannot mature and ovulate. Babies often have anovulatory menstruation, when estrogen levels decrease, vasomotor disorders and neuropsychiatric symptoms occur, mainly manifested as hot flashes, sweating, irritability, restlessness, depression or irritability, insomnia, etc., which is called menopausal syndrome.

This situation is considered menopause, because you are already 45 years old, and this age group is between 44 and 54, so there is nothing to be afraid of. If you go for a check-up to rule out pregnancy and the thin uterine wall, in other words, you can do a blood test to check six hormone levels to see whether the progesterone and follicle-stimulating hormone are very high, then you will know, so there is no need to be overly nervous.

What to do about menopause?

After a woman has amenorrhea, the first thing we need to look at is her age. If, first of all, we have to exclude this kind of physiological amenorrhea, such as before puberty, then she has not had her menstruation. Another thing is that during breastfeeding, some women will resume their menstruation during breastfeeding, but some women will never resume their menstruation during breastfeeding. This is actually a physiological amenorrhea.

If there is no menstruation during natural breastfeeding, we still need to consider whether we are pregnant. If there is no menstruation after pregnancy, it is a physiological amenorrhea.

If this woman is over 50 years old, has symptoms of hot flashes and sweating, and has amenorrhea, then we should first consider whether she is in menopause. At that time, we will check her hormones and determine based on the hormones that she has already reached menopause, and her amenorrhea is also a physiological phenomenon. After menopause, women can increase their exercise appropriately and choose appropriate exercise according to their own conditions, such as brisk walking and swimming, at least 3 times a week, each time for at least 30 minutes, with moderate intensity.

Also need appropriate sunlight, the sun can promote the skin to produce vitamin D3, promote the absorption of high-quality protein, and prevent the occurrence of osteoporosis. Proper work can enhance self-confidence, maintain a happy mood, prevent depression and help build more harmonious and friendly interpersonal relationships, which can alleviate negative emotions. In terms of diet, the main meals should be relatively reduced, the size should be matched, more foods rich in cellulose, such as beans, should be eaten, and the intake of refined grains should be reduced.
