Vaginitis has also become a gynecological disease with an increasingly high incidence rate, but there are many types of vaginitis, and the causes of different vaginitis can also vary greatly. For example, Trichomonas vaginitis is a problem caused by Trichomonas infection. Patients will have obvious symptoms such as vaginal itching and abnormal leucorrhea. So what drugs can be used to treat Trichomonas vaginitis? How to treat Trichomonas vaginitis 1. Trichomonas vaginitis can be treated with local medication Metronidazole vaginal suppositories are generally used, but it should be noted that it is best to flush the vagina before local medication, which can improve the treatment effect. 2. Trichomonas vaginitis can be treated with systemic medication for the first time Metronidazole is taken orally as a single dose or tinidazole is taken orally as a single dose. Due to the poor compliance of patients taking medication, especially sexual partners who often find it difficult to persist in completing the prescribed course of treatment, the recommended systemic medication is metronidazole, which should be taken all at once. It should be noted that drinking alcohol is prohibited during the use of metronidazole and within 24 hours of stopping the medication, and during the use of tinidazole and within 72 hours of stopping the medication. Breastfeeding is not advisable while taking the medication during breastfeeding. Vaginal suppositories are recommended for medication during breastfeeding. How to treat Trichomonas vaginitis 3. Treatment of sexual partners Metronidazole or tinidazole is taken orally once. Because Trichomonas vaginitis is mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse, sexual partners should be treated at the same time and sexual intercourse should be prohibited during treatment. 4. Treatment during pregnancy Metronidazole is taken orally as a single dose. Pregnant patients must communicate with their doctors during treatment because metronidazole can cross the placenta and enter the fetus. Although there is no data proving that it has carcinogenic effects, given that the potential risk of carcinogenesis due to metronidazole has not been completely ruled out, you must follow your doctor's orders when treatment is needed. It is also recommended not to use metronidazole during early pregnancy and to avoid single large doses of the drug. 5. Treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis with traditional Chinese medicine 5.1.
