What are the sequelae after hysterectomy for uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are a common disease in women. Suffering from uterine fibroids can easily cause great harm to women's physical health and can also easily cause some other complications. Surgical treatment of uterine fibroids can also easily leave some sequelae, which can easily lead to urinary and fecal incontinence or sexual intercourse problems.

What are the sequelae of uterine myoma removal?

1. Incontinence: After hysterectomy, the support function of the pelvic floor is weakened. In addition, the loss of sensation caused by pelvic nerve resection may lead to urinary incontinence (inability to control urination), chronic constipation and fecal incontinence (leakage, inability to control bowel movements).

2. Unrelieved pain: Many women experience a permanent, severe pain in their nerve pathways. The pain radiates from the lower back, through the buttocks and down behind the knees, making sitting or walking painful.

3. Psychological disorders: Some patients may worry too much about the serious impact on the harmony of their marital life and family life, affect their work, and develop mental symptoms such as depression and anxiety, resulting in psychological disorders.

4. Sexual intercourse problems: After hysterectomy, inflammatory granulations often form when the vaginal stump heals, which can cause bleeding during sexual intercourse and pain during sexual intercourse. Vaginal shortening after hysterectomy and vaginal dryness due to decreased estrogen levels can both cause pain during sexual intercourse.

5. The endocrine system between the uterus and ovaries of premenopausal women maintains a precise and subtle dynamic balance. However, this balance will be broken after undergoing hysterectomy, causing the patient's ovarian function to decline and possibly leading to premature menopausal symptoms and many other adverse damages.

Severe uterine fibroids are often treated with a hysterectomy. Although this method eliminates the possibility of recurrence of uterine fibroids, it will produce relatively obvious sequelae after hysterectomy. As an important reproductive organ of women, the uterus plays an irreplaceable role.
