Can I get pregnant if I have uterine polyps?

Uterine polyps are a very serious disease for women, because when polyps grow in a woman's uterus, she will feel abdominal pain, and it will be unbearable during menstruation, and she may even have irregular menstruation. If she has sex with a man, it will also have a certain impact on the implantation of the fertilized egg. So, can women with uterine polyps get pregnant?

What are uterine polyps?

Uterine polyp (metropolypus) is a common gynecological disease. In a broad sense, it refers to all tumors attached to the uterine wall by slender pedicles, including endometrial polyps, endometrial adenomyoma polyps, malignant polyps, etc. Most of them are benign and may have no obvious clinical symptoms, or they may cause increased menstruation, abnormal leucorrhea, vaginal bleeding, uterine enlargement, pain, etc. Hysteroscopic examination shows that polyps vary in size and pedicle length, which is a common intrauterine lesion in gynecology. Among them, endometrial polyps are the most common.

Symptoms of uterine polyps

Generally, doctors make the diagnosis based on the symptoms of uterine polyps: increased menstrual flow or irregular uterine bleeding; polyps can be seen or felt at the cervical opening; and the uterus is slightly enlarged. You can also perform hysteroscopy or segmental curettage and send the removed tissue or polyps for pathological examination to confirm the diagnosis.

If you are at home, you can judge by the following symptoms of uterine polyps.

Heavy menstrual bleeding or irregular uterine bleeding

1. Irregular menstruation

Patients with multiple diffuse type often have menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation, which are related to the increase in endometrial area and excessive endometrial hyperplasia.

2. Irregular bleeding, etc.

Large polyps or polyps that protrude into the cervical canal are prone to secondary infection and necrosis, causing irregular bleeding and foul-smelling bloody secretions.

3. Abnormal leucorrhea

In daily life, many female friends do not care about the excessive vaginal discharge in their bodies. A few people with larger polyps will have increased vaginal discharge, or a trace of blood in the center of the vaginal discharge, or even a small amount of vaginal bleeding, that is, bloody vaginal discharge or contact bleeding, which is especially prone to bleeding after sexual intercourse and when squatting and straining to defecate.
